ANIMALS

ANIMALS

Good Morning well haven't we had some lovely sunshine in July?  very fitting for our last challenge - yet again we had some fantastic entries - the standard is superb and the ideas you all keep coming up with are very clever.  Isn't it amazing how one title can mean something different to everyone an so I wonder what the entries for this month's challenge will bring I am sure there will be several that will make me think OMG thats clever why didn't I think of that .

So this months challenge is Animals - a toughie for me as I can't say that I am an animal person at all really and so we don't have any pets.  So what to do what to do what to do I thought and I thought and I thought ....................and then a friend gave me some old books she was getting rid of ( I had just done the handbag book and she thought I might be able to make use of them) ..so thank you Stella .
decided to hollow out the middle of the book - I have never done anything like this before and was a bit clueless as to how to do it - but you tube is a very useful source of information ha ha ha .After glueing the pages together and leaving over night to dry I started to cut ! I eventually got rid of all the middle oh what a mess time to get out the hoover so many little bits.
So I then set too and painted the whole thing - I used a bit of gesso to start with and then ovepainted with some white acrylic paint.  I then covered the outside , page edges and the inside of the hole with white tissue paper that I had "aged" with distress ink.  As the outside of the book wasn't the focal point I just stamped a frame and a tree
Now to tackle the inside oh dilemma dilemma - I couldn't really stamp straight onto the inside of the book so in the end I decided to make two sheets with some lovely smooth stamping card so I cut out the hole and put to one side.  I decided to go with a farm scene and keep it all in a brown colour to match the outside of the book.  I put the farm house and front yard in the hole and then the rest of the surrounding area is the farm? can you see what I see?   Anyway I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by would love to read what you think after all my efforts lol and I look forward to seeing all the amazing entries to the challenge
