Vive Les girls!

I've got a lovely new book of papers from Graphic 45 - A ladies Diary.  I collected it yesterday from the craft club and as I had ordered it I downloaded some digi stamps the night before from here http://freevintagedigistamps.blogspot.co.uk/  they are free.  I coloured the ladies in with promarkers mounted onto black and then some of the paper from the book.  I inked and distress some more of the script papers I got as this too married in with the stamp and mounted onto some more of the graphic 45 paper.  There are some lovely papers and images so you could be in for a run - I'll see how it goes.

Platinum wedding anniversary

I used the serif  programme to create the round sentiment with a 70 inside.  I set the RGB settings to make it a silvery colour, printed and then added glitter to the 70 with a glue pen.

I then cut various fancy circles alternating white pearl card and silver mirri.  The flourishes are from a cheery lynne die.  I did the hougie trick again on the background and added bling to the cross overs. matted onto silver mirri and then onto white pearl card

Feminine Oldies

the top card is for a 60th Birthday and the bottom is for a 90th I didn't add the flower to the top one as it may be going through the post.  I used some pearl card through the houghie board to create a background and matted and layered onto some vitnagey type pink patterned paper.  I used the same pearl card and paper to cut out the shapes .  The lady is a clarity stamp as is the happy birthday I added 90th and 60th from a set of alpha stamps.  I added a ribbon with a narrow braid on top added a bow and hat pins.  The flower was made from the same pink paper using a spellbinder flower die.

first Christmas card of 2012

I decided to make this card to follow on from the summery one I did with the bench stamp.

This time I have stamped in grey and used cool grey promarkers to colour in.  The background is the split tree from clarity and the trees on the right are the twigs from the Joy clarity set.  I used bits of stamps to create an edge to the "garden" I used a quickie glue pen to highlight where the snow would lay and added glitter.  The greeting is also a clarity stamp.

More Art Deco

These are from the free downloaded digi stamps that I downloaded.  On the top one I have utilised some more of that script paper as it had the tower on and I thought it fitted quite well.

I just added a few flower tops to the other one to to finish it off.

More colouring in with promarkers.  I only have a box full  REALLY need some more!! especially another blue and yellow ha ha

Your How old?

Just a couple of small cards using my memory box heart. I started by cutting out 4 hearts in gold mirri.  I then split them and used the top parts for behind the 50's one and the pointy ends for the 60's one.

Take a seat

I found a set of stamps that I forgot I had.  I won the raffle at the craft club the other week and bought this set of stamps by Lindsay Mason  I have coloured them with promarkers and mounted onto some spotty paper.

a card for Mum

A bit of a change today but I have used the stamp for the art deco set!!

I'll leave them alone for a bit now!!
Although I have downloaded some free digi stamps (LOL) they may appear at some stage.

Back to the die cutting machine for this card. The background is the double sided embossing folder from spellbinders.  It is'nt big enough to do a 8 x 8 card so I did it in two pieces and hid the join with the green strip - I didn't have any ribbon the right colour so I cut a strip with a wavy edge blade on my cutter.  added a bit of bling with a border cut from a memory box die in gold mirri made three little flowers from a  circle die and added a couple of hat pins.

Art Deco #4

This card is a little more complicated.  I cut 5 strips of pearly card  2 white, 2 blue and 1 grey.
I trimmed them so that I could lay them on a 15cm x 15 cm  with a little gap in between. I stamped each strip with a different stamp with black archival ink.  I then highlighted various parts of the stamps with a grey pencil - I really wanted to use white but didn't have one.  the lady is stamped and shaded in the same fashion and then layered up.
When I was finished I wasn't happy with the way the left hand side looked. my strips weren't as lined up as they are on the right so I cut  a thin strip of the blue card and put it through a Martha Stewart punch to cover it up. - sneaky!!

Art Deco #3

Again I used Serif for two background papers the patterned one I just distressed around the edges. The pale coloured one is distressed around the edges with a tool to roughen up the paper then I inked it around the edges before stamping. You can see that I have used various stamps from my previous two posts - this time I added the word vintage.

Art Deco ~2

I have used Serif to get a nice background paper for this one which I then stamped in the corners.  I stamped the lady and cut her out and coloured with promarkers.  I cut a couple of dies and distressed to match stamped the word Mum and built everything up over a nice piece of lace.

Art Deco #1

Good Morning all

I get the feeling that the next few posts could have an art deco theme!!
I got a free sheet of stamps with a mga.

This is the first one the background is distressed with eggplant adirondak and I have coloured in the lady with promarkers.

Time

Here's another card utilising some of that script paper.  This one has some clocks and cogs in the bottom right hand corner.  I stamped some more clock faces randomly.  I then ran a stamps away mask through the cuttlebug and then chose two bits to cut out with a circle die and distressed with slate grey adirondak ink

I stamped a round sentiment stamp that says happy birthday. The middle of this stamp is empty so from another set of stamps I added  a clock face in the middle - then I added the fingers.  the background was also distressed around the edges and then mounted onto a black card.

poppy

This is a quick little card I made. The main Poppy stamp belongs to my friend Margaret who was using the script and the poppy to make a card at the craft club last week,  so of course I had to follow suit!. I then finished it off when I got home.  I have distressed the background and the main card with my brushes and an Adirondack inkpad.  The main poppy was coloured with promarkers.  The other poppies in the background are stamped using a clarity stamp.  I actually used a peel off for the sentiment.  I haven't used those for yonks.

Flutterbies

More of the papermania text paper today but one for the ladies this time.
All the butterfiles, plants and text are all the paper.  I have added a die cut butterfly that I have embossed with mica embossing powder. and a sentiment stamp.  3 little gems in the top right corner.  I have painted in the printed butterflies with ink and a water brush.

A peaceful scene

I made the topper for this card at my craft club on Thursday.  the stamps are from either the harbour scene or seaside scene sets of stamps that they do.

Lots of masking going on here background coloured with inks and houses, walls, boats etc are coloured with pro markers

Destination unknown

I have bought a little pad of papers from Papermania that all have text on them - I thought it would come in handy it is all monochrome.

you can't really see from my rotten photographic skills but I have inked around the edges with a green distress ink.  I over stamped the happy birthday  also in green.  The car is one of Clarity's an I stamped in green, cut out with a die shaped and also distressed in green to make it all tone in.

Remember When

I have found even more stash with which to make some cards!!!  (where do you keep it all I hear you ask) LOL

These are some La Pashe decoupage I got once and never used I haven't built up all the layers - as then you can't stick them in the post - They will help bulk out the stock especially of mens cards on my stall.

Speaking of which I will be in Blackpool  at Highfield Church, Scarsdale Avenue FY4 2NP 10 - 4 pm on Saturday. If your in the vacinity please call in and say hello!

oriental part two

These are the final pics from my "found" stash.
They just follow on from my previous post.

Oriental part one

I found a load of oriental pictures amongst my stash that I had forgotten I had.  I knew I had some peel off calligraphy so I thought I would make some cards using them up - I still have one or two pics left but I will save those for later.

I think that some of them will be Ok for gents cards.

Apparently I could only upload 5 pics at a time so another blog to follow!

BTW
the inserts all say Happy Birthday in English and                            Mandarin!

stamped shapes

I made these cards yesterday but got interrupted and have finished them off today.  the first four are variations on a theme and the last one was an image that I started at my craft club on Thursday but never got around to finishing it.  I had a really busy day in Poulton on Saturday so I desperately need to make some more stock quickly.  I will follow this post with another but then may not get around to doing any more this week - but will try,

I have inked the die cut shapes and then stamped flora stamps in toning colours - simple quick cards really.

A pressie for you

This is the little girl that goes with the little buy from yesterday - aah bless.  More free papers a bit of ribbon and a little butterfly charm I came across in a box I keep bits and bobs in.

Little Boy blue

I was posting this earlier today but never got around to it -  I don't know where the day has gone!!

Can't believe its 8.45pm.  I have just packed the car ready for tomorrow I am at Poulton le Fylde in st. Chads hall at a craft fair 10am till 4pm.  If you are around please feel free to pop in and have a nosey.

Thought I would use a free stamp that I got on a magazine - it's a bit of a cute card for me - the paper was a freebie from a magazine too.  I coloured him in with pro markers, stamped a sentiment and cut them out with the cuttlebug.  You can't see it on the photo but there is also some more of that open weave stuff that I have coloured to match the card.

Pearl Wedding

It's our Pearl Wedding Anniversary next week so I thought I'd better make the OH a card.  Hadn't got a clue what to do for a man for a special anniversary as I didn't want to make it too girly - like no ribbons.

Anyway he's getting this one.  I have used my serif programme to make the background and sentiment, I then added little pearls to the hearts (just to make it a pearl anniversary card you understand).  I then cut a memory box heart and it embossed it with a spotty folder. - Bet it's nicer than the one I will probably get from the newsagent at the bottom of the street.LOL

Wednesday 4 July 2012

two little bears

This topper has been around since before I went on holiday - I coloured it at the craft club and I have finally got around to finishing it .  - it's good to be crafting again.

The little bears were a freeebie on a mag.

I cut  out a heart in copy paper to make a mask and then used antique linen distress ink to make a little heart that was subtle.  I stamped the sentiment and the tried to get the bears to look like they're holding the heart.  Again coloured in with pro markers and then did a wiggly line around the edge.

Get on the bus

This stamp is one of stamps away transport stamps.

I started with a piece of plaint white card and coloured it faintly with a bit of blue at the top and green at the bottom with my inkylicous brushes - you can't really tell from the photo as it is very subtle.  I coloured in the bus with promarkers and mounted onto dark brown card.  I stamped the sentiment in brown on some craft card .  I added some of that open-weave stuff but I toned it down from white with a brown distress ink.  A card for the man

Monday 2 July 2012

mica swirl

Hi Everyone

I'm back.  I got a new swirly stamp from Barbara Grey's project club last month and have only just got around to using it.

I stamped in versamark onto black shiny card.  I then used a couple of colours of perfect pearl mica powders to highlight them.  the twiddly bits behind are a couple of memory box Christmas trees chopped up!

I added a bit of - I don't know what to call it as it isn't ribbon is an open weave stuff!! - I topped that with a bit of black ribbon and then mounted it all on more black & white n- et voila.  It hasn't got a  sentiment - it's just a card to use for whatever!! lol

Divorce

I have been asked to make a divorce card so cos I had nothing in my crafty stash decided to use my serif programme.  the top pic is the front and the bottom pic folds in half to make the insert.  I have been told I've been cruel to the groom but on all accounts he deserved it !!  Hopefully back to proper crafting soon!.
