Retirement

Good Morning All its Thursday so this afternoon I will be nipping down the motorway to the craft club at Craft Range - lots of chatting, tea drinking and hopefully a bit of crafting!

I must apologise if anyone is looking for my last post I have inadvertently deleted it  - don't ask .

Anyway today I thought I would share this retirement card with you.

I apologise for the picture - taking photographs in my very dark house , in winter, when you are not David Bailey, is not the best.

I needed to add a sporty theme so in the end opted for creating a background with words of different sports. I did this on the computer, trouble was it all looked a bit dark so in the end I just printed out the outlines of the words and coloured them with pro marker.  The telly is a clip art so I printed that first and worked around it.  The stamp is from Little Claire - I have used it loads I masked him off and created a skirting board then I shaded the carpet - you can't see it on the picture but its all a bit mottled (I used a stippling effect with a brush) I thought it would look a bit more like a carpet.  I created some wallpaper wit a little stamp and a computer generated sentiment.

Light your life

Hi all  I have spent the afternoon doing some atc's and a few tags for  a group I am involved with UK Stampers Network.

I have taken some pics so I am blogging one now to try out a test.

At some stage last week I was messing in network blogs and today when I blogged a card it miraculously appeared on my fb time line and my fb page. So here is a pic of one of the tags I made today... Sunday... I am going to schedule this post to appear on Monday and see what happens.
I started by covering a tag with a paper from a pad I got free with a mag.  I added some vintage photo DI around the edge and stamped with sepia archival. All the stamps are claritystamp and the flower is from this months sale the verse is new too and the dragonfly is from my extensive stash lol.

Right I have also written all this blog on my tablet so lets see if I can figure out how to schedule.

Well nowhere can I find a schedule button so will have to revert to lappy grrrrr.

Moon Song

So whilst I am at home Mum - will you make me a card for Jane - she loves Witches.
So in between being a taxi and taking her here, there and everywhere I knocked up this card for her to take back

Now a couple of years ago I came across a verse about a witch flying over a town so this is my interpretation and the poem is below.  The poem will go on the left side of the insert with the birthday sentiment on the right .

Moon Song

As wild clouds raged across the sky
A witch and her cat swooped swiftly by;
Through the buffeting North wind’s gale
Her broomstick left a glittering trail.

The witch she cackled, the cat it sang,
Above the storm their voices rang
Filling the night with their gleeful song,
Past moon and stars they swept along.

Across the night the old witch flew,
Her billowing cloak behind her blew.
Upon her broom with knees crooked high
On windy nights the witches fly.

Saturday play day

Oh it's lovely having my youngest daughter home for a few days, the house is like a tip but who cares!

Just a quick post to share a card we made on Saturday when I went to a friends house. Just a simple quick one but I have a recipient in mind.  We had a lovely time myself, cindie and Stella.  Used an embossing folder,  brayered over in aged mahogany and then brushed vintage photo on top. The little Claritystamp was done in sepia archival and emboseed in clear. The matting layer was coloured dtp with vintage photo. A few white paper flowers also coloyred coloured wi the same inks..job done.

Off out for a family meal in a while it will be nice to all be together for a change.

Trinket Box

NEW LOOK

I have done it -YAY - I have been trying to change the background on this blog since just after I started it.  I have followed the instructions and fully understood what to do but it was having none of it until last night when I was playing whilst watching the box and I finally got rid of the old background. Why couldn't I do it before? I will tell you why--I am too impatient and have just not given blogger time to respond to my request lol.  So now I have a new look - not totally what I wanted because I did want to put my own picture in the back but it just splits it up I have made it the right size as per instruction but still not playing.  I may have another go at some stage.

So most of you saw this little box I made yesterday on face boon but I thought I would share some more pics.

I got a small pad of G45 papers and some cardboard embellies on a magazine I also have the French Country pads so I used the free papers for the plain backgrounds on the lids and the little pics are from the free papers but the blue stripe is from French country

I had some lace in my stash and the flowers are lovely - from Sweet Lilac flowers. they were white but I added some vintage photo to tone in .  I had fun doing this as its a bit different for me - there was a little inking involved around the edges but no stamping in sight lol .

I lined the inside too

oh a month early...getting in front!

Hi all  as some of you know I Got a new Samsung tablet for Christmas so I am going to try to blog this card and share it on fb....wish me luck. Ihave discovered that I can't go down my reading blog list on here so if anyobe knows what I need to do all help appreciated. But on the other hand its Miles better for sorting out my photos.

So this'll do for valentine's for grumpy.  I was making it for something else but had a change of heart !!!  (There's a pun there lol).
I had a session with my gelli plate oh I must get it out more often.  I don't play with it enough and I had a bad day I couldn't get it to do what I wanted ..its all in the order that you do stuff  some days I do it like a dream..think I could do with a gelli play with Sam Crowe .

Anyway here it is a  couple of prints then I embossed the letterbox set onto heatproof acetate and cut them out I used a ble glue oen behind the letters to stuck them on. Some silver embossing directly onto the print and Bob's your uncle or in my case...grumpy.

Right fingers crossed lets see if I can share this now.

NEW BEGINNINGS

Happy New Year

How are you feeling this morning..bright and breezy or a bit under the weather?
I can't believe we are in 2014 already - it doesn't seem two minutes since we were celebrating the new millennium!!
Did you take part in the last Claritystamp challenge? We had some fantastic entries, lots of great crafters out there and of course the products are just brilliant. 2013 saw lots of new innovative products and ideas from Claritystamp. I  wonder what our Barbara's plan for this year is..and she will have a plan..she always has a plan lol oh and a list ha ha ha.

Anyway that's enough rambling from me and on with the theme for this month..new beginnings.  I was on facebook and a friend posted with the opening words from the song...it's a new day it's a new dawn so that was where my inspiration came from.....

I started with a hand drawn sweep across some card then just kept  going by adding more sweeps then I shaded some bits in. I photocopied it several times and using various sections for masks I was able to create the shading. I used lemonade and butterscotch adirondaks and wild honey distress inks for the whole picture.

I used the stencil brushes they are fab I love em.

Next I used the sunshine stencil - more masking to cover  up the sweep and I didn't want the yellow to go all the way to the top of the sweep.  Now the stencil has a solid middle so it was left white but fortunately the punch I use to make my moon masks was just the right size so I made a hole in a post it note and inked through. I did the sun in lemonade and faded it out at the edges but then went back in the middle with some more butterscotch. I stamped New dawn with a combination of the happy word set and the letterbox set. I used the cloud mask to do the clouds these I wanted to make more yellow at the bottom so I used the negative part of the mask - if you get my drift. I stamped the birds and the tree is stamped with lemonade but I also dipped it into the butterscotch at one side for some shading.

I used another piece of card to matt and layer the first I just edged dtp with the butterscotch to keep it all tone in tone and the background I swept across with the brushes and lemonade then inked through the inner part of the square aperture stencil (the one with the hexagons) using more lemonade.

Here's to 2014 - hope its a good year for you all xxx
