Brayering with Linda - July

Good Morning Everyone - isn't the weather changeable I got up to a damp miserable overcast morning - such a change from all the lovely sunshine we have been having but now Mr Sun is trying to peep out again.

I am just prepping the stuff we will be using so I thought I would just blog these two samples that we will be making at my brayering class over at the Craft Range in Burnley this Wednesday.  We will be moving onto hills and clouds this week - just to test you a bit!!

We will be using these Hope blooms stamps from Lindsay Mason. (Available in the shop)

When I checked on Thursday there were just one or two places left so why don't you ring the shop and come and join us for a morning of inkyness and laughs. Just bring your Splodgeaway mat  or your Ink blending mat and of course don't forget Billy Brayer.

Looking forward to seeing you all

gelli again

I had my EYE on some of my gelli prints ( what about that for a pun then) so thought I would see what I could come up with .
Both have used a Claritystamp stencil and although you can't see it on the photos there is some pearl white acrylic paint as well as the purplish colour.
Dragon fly  - the Stamp man
the EYE - Inkylicious
swirl - free from crafty individuals

This print was more subtle as it had more of the pearly whit paint on so I inked through a random spotty mask - cant think who makes it but I got it from paper artsy.  The flourish corners is a section from Indigoblu's Elizabeth Bennet stamp and the butterfly is the craft stamper free on also from Indigoblu

Lavender & Lemon

Hi Folks - been a while since I was on here.  I went to the Summer crafting show in Doncaster last Saturday and I was a very good girl didn't buy much only had one bag but I did buy a new stamp from Inkylicious so I thought I would have a play.

Now I had already seen Jo Rice's challenge on the fussy & fancy Friday blog challenge but although I do some designs for the Claritystamp challenge I have never actually had a go at one myself so I thought what the hell I will  give it a go.

I stamped the face in dusty concord and then masked over. I used  sunshine yellow (my only yellow inkpad) and mulled lavender I brayered the background of both the topper and base card with yellow across from corner to corner then added some mulled lavender in the empty spaces.  I over stamped wit an Indigoblu script stamp.  On the topper I added some Inkylicious grass stamps in mulled lavender and dusty concord and a faint Indigo butterfly in mulled lavender.

Happy birthday - man card

The other week I went to a fair and found a stall selling lovely cogs and wooden embellies - so needless to say I got loads!!  they are also in stock at the Craft range but not yet on their website.

I simply stamped some of the Kanban cogs that I have and colours some of the embellies and stuck them on .

Very simple but one for the box--- I have a craft fair later this month and I need to be building up my stocks!

Bird cage

Here is another mono tone card - that Maria Simms has a lot to answer for she has got me on a roll with these cards made from one colour - but I have decided that they make a lovely change.

This one is done with forest moss distress ink.

I added a bit of colour to the background card with billy brayer then used the branches in first and second generation ink.  I added a moon and some clouds to the topper then added the branches , foxgloves and birds from the bird table set and the bird cage which was a club stamp.  I left the moon in place then just added the faintest of tone with the brayer.

man card

Just a quick man card today

I created the background using some cog stamps from Kanban (so no longer available) using a second generation stamp.
All the card was white so  I brayered around the edges with antique linen just to tone it down.

Anniversay

So we will have been married for 31 years on Tuesday - so this is a very quick card I made for Grumpy.

It is nothing fancy just gold embossing on black card with some matting and layering - he is not my fave person at the moment so this will do him lol

I do not expect that I will get one as he cannot get out with his bandaged legs apart from when I take him to the clinic for a dressings change and will he have thought to ring our eldest and asker her to get him a card - will he b....ry and he doesn't do computers so I wont even get one from moon pig.  This hasn't got an insert yet will have to try to find one thats not slushy as this sentiment is enough slush for the way I feel right now.

Anyway both stamps are from Clarity

my board

Morning all. Isn't t a lovely day today the sun is finally shing in Darwen - yay that makes a really nice change.

I went to craft club yesterday over at craft range and was glad to see that my samples board from the demo day last Saturday was still intact - was glad really as I hadn't taken a pic

So her it is - not a vary good photo but you get the general idea.  I was demoing brayering and pan pastesl so the cards are very similar but the ones of one left are done with inks and the ones on the right are done in pans.

I did have two more samples on here that will be the cards for my next workshop but they are now on the shop counter with dates and stuff but if you click on the craft range tab they are there for you to see should you wish.  You can't leave comments on them - cos up to press I haven't figured out how to do that lol so any clever folk out there please feel free to give me some advice!!!

So glad I a managed to get a pic --- I did the centre notice in Serif .

Hope you all have a fabby weekend.  Made a few cards yesterday so hopefully I will get them on here and schedule a few posts

inspired by Maria

It was my Sister in Law's birthday on Saturday and as a crafter I try to make something extra nice but this year I seemed to have no mojo to speak of and I was really struggling to make her a nice card.
However, fate took a turn for the better and I did a workshop with the lovely Maria Simms the Saturday before  where one of the cards we did used the Claritystamp flamingo and used just the one ink pad - the same one I have used for this picture.

I used the bird table set from the classroom set for this weekend and I decided to add the little round stamp inside the moon.

So I would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Maria for her inspiration.xx

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside

As  I sit and schedule this post it is still Flaming June - a time when we should be basking in sunshine possibly thinking of taking a trip to be beside the sea? - yea right  its Wimbledon and Glastonbury so what do you know - yep you guessed it is pouring down (well it is where I live)  It is actually sun shining at Wimbledon at the moment but it was raining there too earlier .

I cannot believe that it is July on Monday (It is late afternoon on Friday as I write) and time for another Claritystamp challenge they certainly come around quickly we are  starting challenge five already it doesn't seem two minutes ago that I was so very excited to be asked to be  a part of the design team for it. I am  still  excited to be part of  such a talented group of people and what about all the fantastic entries we get - there are some really clever crafters out there. It is  a real struggle to pick out my favourite 5 each month so I am really pleased that we don't have to pick the winner and to be fair to one and all it is far better to have a the winner picked at random as that way both experienced crafters and newbies get an equal opportunity to win such a great prize.

Anyway so the theme this month is
Oh I do like to be beside the seaside!

So here is my creation!

I was inspired by the beach hut stamps and in my head this is a row of beach huts against the sea wall underneath the promenade with the town behind - well that's what was in my head ! - I know it is a very weird place inside my head.  Anyway as I planned it I thought it still lacked a bit of something so that's when I decided to use the 1st class vertical ATC stamp  (I removed the ink from the writing)
I have to admit that the scene took some working out - and quite a lot of masks had to be made !!
I don't know that the picture shows it too well but the railing along the top of my "sea wall" was made with the bottom bit of the hanging vine stamp - it was the round bits that reminded me of the round knobs that you get on such railings - I told you it was weird inside my head.   I also added the Church spire - just cos I could, and I used promarkers to colour.   Oh I do wish I was at the sunny sea side sat in that chair..........oh well a girl can dream.
