Shabby Blue

Hi

This is a wedding card where I have used the lovely lace again (very pale blue version) but this time I trimmed off the top.

Background done on Hougie board and behind the heart I have embossed with Stampendous Shabby blue embossing enamels.  I got some of these the other week at Port Sunlight - they are really lovely but discovered not too good for fine work like writing.

Dad's taxi

Sorry I have not posted for a while - I just do not know where the time is going .
Whilst I'm here I'll post a few to come up on the schedule as I have decided that I am not making any cards today.  I have been busy catching up with housework - I know in this heat - I must be mad. I am tired now so just going to catch up on the old PC and do some admin and stuff.

Another Dad's day card

I stamped the background with a script stamp   I cut two dies in black  from a Samantha Walker die by spellbinders and cut off the fancy bits at the end .  I linked these over and xcut die shape in white that I distressed with slate adirondak, stamped on the old card and sentiment and coloured with  a water brush and the slate ink with a slight touch of red for the seats inside.

don't miss the bus

A plain little fathers day card.

I coloured an oval piece of card with blue at the top and a greyish bottom, stamped the bus (from stamps away) in brown and coloured in with a water brush.  I then triple embossed with UTEE and mounted up.

80th birthday

Hi this is part two of yesterday's post.
Same card, same embossing folder.  I cut out a fancy circle large enough to meet the filigree.  this was made from the top half of the hearts that I cut for the other card.  I embossed in gold and added a little gold ribbon across the middle of the card then mounted on gold mirri card and then used the dark green to make the actual card.http://www.facebook.com/LindasHandMadeCards

60th birthday

I have been asked for a 60th and an 80th birthday card and I have some lovely pale and dark green pearlised card so I thought I would make both along the same lines so as not to have any waste.  This is the first one, I'll post the other one tomorrow.

I used a "square" die by x cut for the central section with the greeting. Then I used the next size up at right angles.  i added a frame made from the two largest dies.

I then cut 4 hearts from a memory box die and cut off the bottom bits to give the fancy filigree work.  The background is embossed with a paisley embossing folder.  I didn't have any green ribbon that looked right so I took some self adhesive paper lace tape, coloured it with a green pro marker, heat embossed with some pearly green mica embossing powder but still wasn't quite right so I overlayed that with some pale blue.  Not quite but near enough.

Made some little flowers with the waste from the background and added a couple of hatpins et voila

A hint of Pink

A wedding card with a hint of pink

Background is embossed in cuttlebug and I've used a set of splendid circles behind the sentiments.  The inner and outer circles have been distressed with a bit of antique rose from Tim Holtz. I have embossed the middle circle with some stampendous embossing powder that has a lot of glitter in.

I added a border of very pale pink lace that I got from Grace & Favour in Thornton.

The flowers were made by stamping onto vellum, embossing and forming.http://www.facebook.com/LindasHandMadeCards

shoes shoes gimme soes

I originally did a version of this card at the craft club last week  but it was a mess - everyone said it was lovely but I didn't think it was up to scratch.  so I salvaged the lace and started again and this is the result.

Have a fab weekend everyone.

By the garden gate

Hi All

I'm late blogging today only just realised I've run out of stuff on my schedule.

This is another with the papermania stamps.  I did this one in a box frame card - somebody must have liked it as it sold on Sunday ha ha

Well it's been so busy this week I have been doing some posters for the Fylde Coast disability awareness charity who organise craft fairs at some of which I have a stall.  I have also been doing some wedding stationery so haven't had time to craft.  I have made one wedding card but I've had a lovely little play at the craft club today - didn't make anything but had a nice play and lots of chat.

Shopping tomorrow (sadly we have to eat) I hate food shopping winds me up no end - supermarkets always lots of checkouts without staff.  bah humbug.  I'll schedule another card for tomorrow and then hopefully things will get back to normal.

I am attending a craft/carboot on Sunday at the Pig & Whistle on Blackpool road 9 - 1 come along and have a nosey if you are near.

A little cute card for me!!!

fathers day ties

Hi all

Do you like my little slideshow?

Spent all day making fathers day cards.  I had no mojo at all and really strugfled this is the first and worst - I got my mojo back after doing this one will post some more over the next few days.

It started out with a little tag I had of popcorn the bear putting on a tie so in y way I decided to make a background out of ties but then when I went to add him it didn't look right - not my sort of thing at all so I stuck some socks on too and a sentiment. It's not but I'll put it on the stall not every one has the same sort of taste as me.

Thanks

A simple little card but I like it.  background coloured in pink and yellow and then I just stamped the flower heads and stems then I used a water brush to colour.

little bird house

This is a little house I made some time ago and I am using this picture to try to work out how to get pics into my blog from Flickr - OMG am I getting into this century or what.

Have now got a facebook page checkout Linda's hand made cards. have now also got a twitter account and somehow have managed to link this blog to flickr so I can post stuff without having to keep taking card out of phone and messing - ooooh I think I am soooooo  clever !!!!!

Special Day

Got a new stamp from Roy Higginbottom at Dimension stamps.  You stamp out the shape then stamp a pattern on each petal cut it out and do this several times you then cut a section or several sections and then glue together and shape.  I've used vellum for this one and I made three different sizes.
The background is one of those new embossibility folders.  The circles are from spellbinders splendid circles and the middle one has had the edge trimmed off and embossed with some embossing powder with mica in.

Golden Wedding

Well hello everyone.

Sorry been quiet but I've had shingles and whilst I've done a little bit of crafting I haven't felt like loading stuff on either my blog or my facebook page. If your on facebook follow the link to my page and "like" me - cheers

Well I have updated both now and hopefully will find time to get back to blogging.

This is a card I have made for a commission that came from a lady at a craft fair I am hoping she likes it!!!

I've done some piercing around the edges made a lattice pattern on the background with my hougie board
I mad some flowers with gold ribbon.  I managed to get the 50 by printing it on coated card (in this case pearl) and used best quality on the printer settings - as it came out of the printer - I stood over it and poured the embossing powder on it as it was coming out - the ink was still wet enough to get the powder to stick - so well impressed with that trick. - hope you like it.
