If the shoe fits

This is not the best of pictures but thought I'd post it anyway.  Yet more of the red pearlised card ( I love it but nearly run out now must try to find some more dark coloured pearly cardstock)

Need less to say the shoe is a Clarity stamp and I just coloured them in with various dye based ink pads and a water brush.  I printed the writing from the computer before I started stamping

Ali's 40th

Hi

Going to a 40th birthday party tonight so here is the card I made whilst at the craft club yesterday held at my local craft shop:
craftrange Burnley

We always have a lovely afternoon chatting and some crafting goes on but not as much as there is talking going on (LOL) I did however manage to make this one.  I pierced around the edge of the base and stuck a pearl in each corner.  I embossed the centre panel and inked with an adirondak ink pad.  I only have a cuttlebug so did two halves and hid them behind the ribbon. ( Up there for thinking down there for dancing).  Cut out, inked and stamped the sentiment.  The red cut out is made up from two different dies then stuck together.  The flowers are made from ribbon and I stuck in a couple of hat pins for good measure.

Flutterby Butterly

I stamped the base card in the corners with versa mark and added mica powders.  I did the same with the inner oval.  The outer oval was "distressed" with versa mark and I also put mica powder on that - just to make it all tie together really.  I cut two butterflies from a cheery lynn die and a little flower from spellbinders These I embossed with a couple of layers of mica embossing powder as is the leaf a gem for the middle and there you have it.

birdhouse

Another card from my stash.  The bird house stamp was free with a magazine the frame around was made by cutting two flourishes  from a cheery Lynn die.  the border is made from a fleur de lis spellbinder die but I cut off the pointy bits!!!

Not made any cards so far this week as been getting ready for a craft fair but I'd better get a riddle on as a few birthdays coming up !!

DIAMOND MASK

This card was made with my monthly stamp from the Clarity Stamp project club.  The mask arrived this month and the diamonds are from a previous edition.  The music is a stamp from inkylicous that I stamped at a jaunty angle the diamonds on the music are stamped in black using both first and second generation inking.  The diamonds on the black part have been embossed with silver.

Lattice work

Took hubby away for a few days for his birthday so no crafting or blogging done.  However have arrived home now so I thought I'd post one from my "stash".

This is a Sue Wilson inspired card.  I even pierced around the edge!! I embossed the background using mask and inked through it before removing it.  I cut a fancy circle and cut the middle out with a plain circle twice.  I cut some strips and wove them through like lattice work and stuck to one of the rings.  I then covered the edges with the other ring.  Cut a couple of smaller fancy circles and inked through the smallest one.  I made the flowers and put some "pearls" in the middle.  Hat pins made from jewellery head pins threaded with some beads, tied a bow from matching ribbon - job done.

last of the men

Hi two last cards for men.  I imported line drawings into Desk top publisher and then recoloured the line drawings and manipulated the sizes.

For the first one I printed it onto white card and then painted it with distress ink.  I then inked up the edges of an acrylic block and spritzed it with water after cleaning the middle with kitchen roll I then pressed the block over the car thus leaving a rectangle which I cut out once dry.  I uteed the whole thing then froze it for 10 mins before cracking the glaze.  I matted and layered on brown then  fawn coloured core card torn at the edges.  the printed paper is some Tim Holtz.

Printed the image as above but then cut out with die. distressed the edges.  Printed the words on the brown card and then onto cream card but this time manipulated the word journey by using the emboss and outline function.  found a strip of Tim Holtz paper for the backing.

I am struggling with uploading my pics sometimes whilst they look the right way up in my phone and my lap top I sometimes have to make them upside down on my computer to get them to come up the right way on blog. Any ideas anybody?

Lacy Loveliness

Well I don't know what happened to yesterday but it's gone.  I was busy making cards trying to build up my stash and a couple of cards for friends and family birthdays.  Then my daughter turned up and bought 4 for a friend - so my stash is still not growing but that's ok I can start all over again later.

This is the card I cut out on Sunday with my new Spellbinders die.
I embossed the background with one of the new double sided embossing folders from Spellbinders ( yet another purchase at Harrogate ha ha ha).  I cut two borders one in white and one in blue then interwove them.  I edged the white bits with a bit of Adirondak in Stone wash.  The surround for the greeting is made from chopping down from the same shape as the flower in the middle.

Bob's Birthday

Well we had a great time at the Harrogate show yesterday and shopped till we dropped.

Haven't had a great deal of time to play today as have had a visit from eldest daughter and son in law with a lovely bunch of flowers and a card but I finally managed to get his Lordship's birthday card made ready for Thursday - it still needs the inside finishing but this is the outside.

I made the  background  with an embossing folder        (one of  yesterday's purchases) a clipper ship stamp from Tabbycat ( another of yesterdays purchases) - LOL.

I mounted the ship on a spellbinders rectangle (Mother's day gift from youngest daughter who sadly has to work today ) - well it had to be done didn't it couldn't not use it today.  I also bought a lacy accent spellbinders die and have done some cutting out but not yet made it into a card!.

Extra Special Celebration

This card is well blingy but I was asked to make a special card for a special couple who will be celebrating their 65th Wedding Anniversary - How cool is that!

I looked on the www and it said that 65 years was blue sapphire but then again so was 45 so I played safe and did just white on white and as I saw the blingy 65 cheap in a shop that's where I started!!

I began with some really nice embossed paper and matted and layered over it with some white pearl card that I "trellissed"- (is that a word - but you know what I mean) on the hougie board and stuck bling on all the crosses that would show.  I cut two really fancy squares from a spellbinder die, scored across cut into the centre, fan folded and stuck the two together - see Sue Wilson's for this idea - she demoed it on the box.

I typed the names and Happy Anniversary in word art and changed the settings to silver, cut out with a circle die and matted on another circular die.  I made some flowers from white ribbon and stuck it all together.  Hope you like it.  Off to the GNP show in Harrogate tomoz - its brill can't wait, will come home with a lighter purse sore arms (from carrying my stash)  and achy feet from standing about all day watching all the demos but deffo well worth it!

I see no ships

Thought I'd go with a masculine theme today.

These all include some Tim Holtz background maps, The ship and lighthouse stamps are from Clarity and the circle around the final ship is part of a time set of stamps from Kanban.
I nicked the Nautical knot from Sam Pool but now I can't find it on her blog.  - good job I copied the pictures so that I will be able to do it again in the future.

Tweet Tweet

I decided to make this card when I was inspired by a very plain card I saw in a magazine.  It was entirely white with one little square about 1" across with a stamped image and a sentiment.  Needless to say that this card looks nothing like it!!!

I started by stamping the images on three little squares and triple embossing them. ( I did still intend to make 3 cards at this point).

Then I decided to bung them all on one DL card.  I made the background by stamping with a script stamp, colouring the card to a pinky colour with distress in and my inkylicous brushes, then matted and layered the panel and the tiles and stuck it all together.

Hope you like it.

The Girls did good

Cindie's card

Stella's card

Well I've arrived home after a very nice lunch and a grand afternoon crafting.

I think I tested the girls  quite hard.

The background started as white pearlised card which was then coloured with antique rose distress ink.
The labels were cut from maroon pearlised card stock.  The large label in the middle has been backed with the daisy pattern cuttlebug embossing folder.  The butterflies were cut from a cheerylynn design die.  Stella's was distressed with the Antique Rose whilst Cindie embossed hers with some pearly mica embossing powder.  The red flowers are cut from a Spellbinders flower die and the white flowers were made from a round circle die cut into a spiral and then distressed again with the vintage rose.  The labels were intertwined with openweave ribbon and red ribbon.

They had to make the hat-pins from jewellery header pins and some beads which were then secured behind the sentiment and bow.

excellent work girls.  Linda xx

Buckle

This card was made by cutting a large labels 20 and two smaller ones, then I intertwined openweave ribbon between them.  I added a sentiment on a small labels 20 with a faux nestie and a border down each side.

Today I am going to Cindie's and giving her and Stella a lesson on how to use the cuttlebug.  We will make a variation of this card with extra embellishments just to cover several techniques.  I will post the results.

Autumn Lady

I started by distressing around cream card with some vintage photo distress ink.  I stamped leaves in green and brown on a strip of cream card and also distressed with vintage photo.  I mounted this on brown card.

I cut out two labels 13 in brown and cream, stamped the Clarity lady on the cream with vintage photo and used a water brush and extra ink to colour her in, again distressing the edges of the shape.

I made a card from a spellbinders flower shape, punched out a couple of leaves, stamped the Clarity sentiment at the top and job done.

Wednesday, 7 March 2012

This was one of the first cards I made using the cuttle bug and spellbnders dies.
It is made from blue card and white pearlised card that has been distressed using inkylicous brushes.  The hat-pins were made using some jewellery findings and some beads.

This card was made with stamps from Clarity cards and the picture  is my interpretation of Eilean Donan Castle in Scotland
